OVERVIEW OF THE CEB SCHEME FOR NGOs AND CHARITABLE INSTITUTIONS 

Within the framework of the Renewable Energy Roadmap 2030 and following the Budget Speech 2020-2021, CEB is pleased to invite qualified NGOs and Charitable Institutions (CIs), and Women Associations (WA), registered or officially recognized by the competent Authority of the Republic Mauritius, to -apply under the CEB Renewable Energy (RE) Scheme for NGOs and Charitable Institutions.


This SSDG project is currently being implemented and involves the installation of solar photovoltaic kits for free on the roof of the qualified NGOs/Charitable Institutions and Women Associations.   


 Note :-
• The Board has approved that the rate for electricity credit, under this Scheme, be Rs 4.20 per kWh. The new rate will only be applicable for installations that have been commissioned as from 01 November 2023.
• Tariff is no longer a qualifying criterion, subject to the NGO or WA being duly registered with the relevant authority.
• Women Associations (WA), who are interested in the scheme, shall submit their application forms to the National Women Council (NWC). The NWC shall thereafter forward these application forms to the CEB.
