This project, announced in the 2018/19 Budget Speech, aims to promote renewable energy by allowing residential customers (who consume up to 300 kWh per month, and are in tariff categories 110, 120 and 140) to produce their own electricity from renewable energy sources.
This SSDG project is currently under implementation and involves the installation of 2000 solar panels (with a capacity of 2kWp each) for free on the roof of residential customers in Mauritius and Rodrigues.
