OVERVIEW OF THE CEB GREENFIELD RENEWABLE ENERGY SCHEME 

The CEB GREENFIELD RENEWABLE ENERGY SCHEME is an initiative launched pursuant to the measure enunciated at Paragraph 101 of the Government Budget Speech 2021-2022.

In this initial and current phase of the Scheme, the CEB will consider application for greenfield renewable energy (RE) projects from Public Sector Entities only. RE projects from the Rodrigues Regional Assembly may also be considered under this Scheme.

A total cumulated capacity of sixty (60) megawatts (MW) has been earmarked for the present phase of this Scheme in the Mauritius. The maximum capacity of a project should not exceed fifteen (15) MW ac.

Notice to Public Sector Entities (PSEs)

Public Sector Entities (PSEs) having submitted Proposed Project Prefeasibility Forms for intended solar photovoltaic (PV) systems can download the relevant Agreement (Energy Supply and Purchase Agreement or Connection Agreement). There are two Model Energy Supply and Purchase Agreement (ESPAs). One is for intended solar PV systems of capacity above 4 MWp and up to 10 MWp and the other ESPA is for solar PV systems above 10 MWp. For solar PV system of capacity up to 2 MWp, PSEs are required to download the Connection Agreement.

CEB reserves the right to make changes (additions, deletions and/or corrections) to the Model Agreements (ESPAs and CA) as deemed necessary without being liable to any party.

All concerned PSEs are hereby informed that the signed Agreement (ESPA or CA, whichever would be applicable) in two originals should be submitted along with the detailed feasibility of their proposal by latest 31 March 2022; more details will be communicated to qualified PSEs through official letter.
